We’re so excited to have Brooke join the Creative Natives crew. She’s a special one who will be taking care of all our performance and digital marketing roles.

We caught up with Brooke to learn a bit more about her.

 

WHAT DO YOU DO AT CREATIVE NATIVES?

I empower brands to scale with the right talent while guiding performance marketers to their next big opportunity.

 

YOU’VE ACTUALLY WORKED IN PERFORMANCE MARKETING YOURSELF. HOW DOES THAT SHAPE THE WAY YOU HIRE FOR THOSE ROLES NOW?

I’m looking at the skills and experience of a candidate through a more technical lens. Matching the unique needs of a business to candidates that have the level of experience and technical knowledge needed to succeed in that role.

It’s equally important that these candidates are walking into a team with the right structure and support that allows them to succeed. So I’m asking the questions that allow candidates to feel confident in their choice and thrive in their next big move.

 

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT RECRUITMENT?

The “why” behind it. It’s nice to do a job that has a lot of purpose and allows me to provide a positive outcome for the people on both ends. And, if I can’t place a candidate for one role, I can always help them find something else.

 

HAVING BEEN ON THE TOOLS, WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN A GREAT PERFORMANCE MARKETER BEYOND WHAT’S ON THEIR CV?

There is so much nuance to this area and it really depends on the level of the role, but I know the best people are the ones that can tell me about the off-platform data they’re analysing, the creative testing strategies that have improved performance, or how they work to optimise the entire funnel (not just the in-platform metrics). Curiosity and determination to solve problems is a big green flag to me!

 

WHY DID YOU WANT TO JOIN CREATIVE NATIVES?

I’d been following Ryan for about a year and loved how the CN team operate and what they stand for. I always had the thought in the back of my mind of “what if” when it came to recruitment, but knew it would have to be a really strong fit. Getting to marry up my experience in performance marketing with a unique role in recruitment was a no brainer.

 

IF YOU WEREN’T IN YOUR CURRENT ROLE, WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING INSTEAD?

I’d be a Digital Marketing Specialist, Performance Account Manager or Digital Project Manager.

CATS OR DOGS?

Dogs – my Toy Cavoodle, Teddy, is the definition of a fur baby.

 

BEST TRIP YOU’VE BEEN ON?

A Contiki around the south island of New Zealand. I went solo, made new friends, saw snow for the first time and learnt how to ski while severely hungover. Zero regrets!

 

WHAT’S YOUR HIDDEN TALENT?

I’m a self-professed wordsmith. I once won a competition for story writing and started my career in marketing as a Copywriter.
