How your business can go carbon neutral this year
With climate change impacting the world more and more each year, there’s an increasing number of businesses that are looking at their impact on the environment and what steps they can take to reduce harm and their carbon footprint. Some employees are also expecting climate action from their employers as well and are happy to move to somewhere that does care about the environment if nothing changes.
One way to lessen your organisation’s impact on the environment is to go carbon neutral. We’ve been carbon neutral for the last two years (2021 and 2022) and it’s really not as difficult as you may think. We’re here to tell you how you can do it too.
Find a company to do all the heavy lifting.
It’s really as simple as that! There are a number of companies who specialise in helping businesses like yours become carbon neutral and reduce their impact on the environment. You can do it all yourself if you want, but it involves a lot of time, energy and resources.
Here at Creative Natives, we used trace, an Australian company dedicated to removing the barriers to climate action by giving people and businesses the tools they need to take immediate steps and make real and lasting change.
The process with trace was very simple. They have a fancy portal that makes it super easy to track and calculate your carbon emissions. Just collect the data about your office space (if you have one), commuting and travel, waste and the businesses and services you use, pop it into the portal and the trace team will come back to you with a calculation of your carbon emissions and how much it’ll cost to off-set them.
The cost to off-set your emissions gets invested into a number of climate projects across Australia and the world, plus trace will plant trees on your behalf – we’ve had 362 trees planted over the past two years.

We know that paying money to off-set carbon emissions is not the end of the story and that we should all be aiming to reduce our impact. Well, there’s more good news!
The trace team can also provide support and guidance on changes you can make at your work to help reduce your impact on the environment – whether that’s implementing a recycling program or changing your suppliers to be more environmentally friendly and sustainable.
